21 Days of Prayer and Fasting
21 Days of Prayer & Fasting
January 4–25, 2026
As we begin 2026, we’re setting aside twenty-one days to seek the Lord together through focused prayer, fasting, and Scripture. This is a dedicated time for our COAH family to draw near to God, realign our hearts, and prepare for all He wants to do in the year ahead.
Everyone is invited to participate at whatever level they can. Below are several fasting options to help you choose a path that fits your season and health.
Types of Fasts
1. Complete Fast
A fast consisting of liquids only—typically water, broth, and natural juices. This type of fast requires physical readiness and should be done thoughtfully.
2. Partial Fast (Sunup to Sundown or Specific Meals)
A fast where you abstain from food during certain hours of the day (for example, 6 AM–6 PM) or choose to skip one or two meals consistently. This creates space to pray and refocus throughout the day.
3. Daniel Fast
A plant-based fast modeled after Daniel 1 and 10. Participants eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and water, while avoiding meats, sweets, processed foods, and beverages other than water.
4. Selective Fast
A fast where you give up specific categories of food (such as sugar, caffeine, meat, or processed foods). This is a flexible option that still creates intentional sacrifice and focus.
5. Soul Fast (Media / Entertainment Fast)
A fast from non-food distractions such as social media, TV, gaming, or other forms of entertainment. This is ideal for those who cannot fast from food or want to remove mental noise to hear God more clearly.
Our Heart for These 21 Days
We believe fasting is not about what we’re giving up—it’s about what we’re making room for. As we humble ourselves before God, we are expectant that He will meet us, speak to us, and move in powerful ways in our lives, homes, and church.
Join us as we set apart these 21 days to pursue Jesus with renewed passion and focus.
